Our decision

“A lot of people wait so long to choose a retirement community, their children have to make the decision. That can really divide a family. We chose to be here, so no one has to be angry at anybody!”
Ed and Arlyn, active in community affairs
The moment you enter Westminster Gardens, you can see how this unique community earned its name: there are flowers everywhere, including more than 2,000 rosebushes. And as you walk the pathways between cottage-like residences spread out over 32 gently rolling acres, you wind your way among hundreds of fruit trees: apples, oranges, Asian pears, avocados and persimmons.
In these tranquil surroundings, residents stay active with every type of outdoor pursuit—gardening, of course, and also walking, biking, swimming and a wide range of fitness programs. You can even play a game of tennis on the community’s private court.
Set in sprawling, well-treed parkland beneath the San Gabriel Mountains, Westminster Gardens is unlike any other senior community: dynamic and diverse, celebrating active leisure amidst inspiring natural beauty.
unique spirit
The residents of Westminster Gardens are energetic seniors from a broad mix of professional, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Historically, many have been retired Presbyterian ministers and missionaries—people of faith who’ve worked in developing countries around the globe. Their collective experience brings an open-minded, accommodating spirit to this unique senior community where people celebrate their independence by embracing all that life has to offer.
